Candle manufacturing was propelled
further during the first half of the twentieth century through the
growth of U.S. oil and meatpacking industries. With the increase of
crude oil and meat production, also came an increase in the
by-products that are the basic ingredients of today's
candles -- paraffin and stearic
acid. While candles are no longer man's major source of light,
candles continue to grow in
popularity. Today,
candles symbolize celebration, mark
romance, define ceremony, and
home decor.
Candle Decorating Tip
You'll find great tips on decorating
your house with candles throughout our candle pages. Effective use
of candles can bring any room to life with attractive candles.
Tip 1.
Varying heights of multiple candles is a great way to fill space. By
adding different size pillars or even putting some on candle stands
can create a dynamic feel to a space. Just like a mountain is
sometimes better to look at than a round hill. There is more to see.
Most of our candle sets, come with varying heights and candle
stands.
Candle Decorating Tip
Mirrors are a simple and effective way to enhance
your candles. Using mirrors as a base or behind a candle will throw
off more light. Crystal shaped glass or containers are also a great
idea for showing off the light from your candle in a more
interesting way.
Votive Candles
Votive Candles are designed to burn
for 12 to 15 hours if burned properly and with the proper votive
candle holder. If not burned in an appropriate holder, votives will
completely liquefy in about 1/2 hour, leaving a large pool of molten
candle wax.
